5.7.1 Unable to Relay error ???

I am having this problem receiving email with my new Exchange 2003 Server, but it works fine with my old EMWAC server...heres the scenario: Scenario A (works fine) Firewall is set to forward all incoming email traffic to EMWAC server. Email sent from hotmail or gmail comes in just fine and is...

SCO Printing with HP Jet Direct

Update: I think I figured the problem out, but I had to refer to technical docs that are about three years old. I looked in SCO's current documentation, and from what I can tell they are missing some of the syntax for this particular situation. Specifically, it refers to editing the...

SCO Printing with HP Jet Direct

Thanks for the tip PHV - I tried your suggestions, and there is something else puzzling that happens...I can use the HP Printer Manger to send a test file to the printer, and it will print one time, then it wont let me send anymore. I checked my printer queues and they are empty. I tried turning...

SCO Printing with HP Jet Direct

Hmm, in etc/printcap, there is only one line of text at the top, and it is commented out. It says: #Remote Line Printer (BSD Format) Where do I find the rm entry? (Darn Unix Newbies....) :) >ping 127.0.0.1 >Destination network unreachable. *sigh*

SCO Printing with HP Jet Direct

Long story short, we had two printers set up in SCO and were able to print to them just fine. They were both hooked up to an HP JetDirect print server called "officehpjd" - this server has an entry in /etc/hosts that points to the correct IP. We recently moved one of the printers to...

    MMDF problems

I accidentally started a new thread with this information, sorry for the double posting...here is what I have so far on my situation (MMDF is causing sever lag on our SCO server...) It appears that the system is trying to deliver mail constantly, and it cannot be delivered. This results in a...

    SCO MMDF causing system lag

I have read some of the other posts in here, and found them helpful, however since I am still a newbie to Unix, I am not 100% sure if what I did solved the problem... Here is what I have tried so far: It appears that the system is trying to deliver mail constantly, and it cannot be delivered...

    MMDF problems

As a side note, hanmail.net (among a few others) try to relay off of our mail server as well (Win2K server with EMWAC IMS)...

Account is locked out, but its not...

I have changed my DNS settings on the new server, so hopefully that will update everything as time goes on. Does anyone know if there is a way to manually update Active Directory? I remember seeing a screen during the initial setup that showed the new server updating its copy of Active Directory...

Account is locked out, but its not...

I think I have figured it out, and its clearer now as to why she cannot access it. It would appear that there is a larger issue going on here that I was not aware of. Heres what I did: Used a password recovery utility on both servers to see what the server thought her password was...guess what...

Account is locked out, but its not...

It is supposed to be a DC - or at least a Windows 2000 version of a BDC. I am in the process of replacing our original server which has been around since the dawn of time and want to make sure that the new machine is stable enough to handle everything before I run the dcpromo. When I look in AD...

Account is locked out, but its not...

When I go to UserA's account in AD the box for "Account is locked out" is not checked - that's what is driving me crazy today. UserA can log on, check email, access shares on another server, etc. but we are unable to map a drive to the share on the new server.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that her workstation is a Windows NT 4.0 SP6 workstation. I have tried her account on multiple NT machines as well as a Win2K machine...

Account is locked out, but its not...

Here is a fun one that has been driving me to extremes today: We have a Windows 2000 Server that has user shares located on it. Last week I mapped everyone's H drive to the new server, and life was good. Today (Monday, of course...) I have one user (UserA) who cannot access her H drive on the...

    Determining tape drive type

How do I go about finding the drive type located in my Unix box? I need to apply a software update from a tape and (being new to Unix...) I am not sure how to identify the tape drive. The instructions from the software vendor state that I should run a command of "tar xvf...

Modifying an existing table in Informix

*Much grateful bowing before Dodge20* Works great! This will help eliminate the need for data entry to switch back and forth between screens to see what login is associate with what account...I dont mind doing a little manual entry up front if it saves me time in the long run.... Thanks again!

Modifying an existing table in Informix

Ok, Im sure this will sound like a dumb question to anyone who has used SQL before, but I am new to this. I did RTFM, but I cant seem to make it work... Heres the problem - I have an existing table in my Informix SQL database called "waxcnt" - this table has fields called...

    MMDF help

That seems to have helped...however I did notice while poking around that root has a LOT of email. (I hardly ever touch this machine...) It wont let me delete and discard the messages from the mail window...is there a directory where the messages are stored? If so, is it ok to go into that...

    MMDF help

We noticed a considerable slowdown in the system when printing, so I called the software vendor that supports our database. They were able to telnet in and determine what process was consuming a large amount of resources. After that, I was able to kill the process and it increased overall system...

    MMDF help

We have a SCO Unix server that handles our customer database and recently it has been lagging. After speaking with the software vendor, we determined that the MMDF process is causing a lot of unnecessary activity on the system. My understanding is that the MMDF process handles mail for the...
