That way I don't get the error regarding for "#form.sqlstring#", but I cannot get the sqlstring to be passed from the other page.

ok.. I tried what you suggested..but I I must have understood it wrong because it didn't work.
So, here is the code I use.
Server with the DB (Server A) : test_db_server.cfm
Remote file (Server B) : test_db.client.cfm
(test_db_client.cfm)...
Ok, I did some tests... and it does not seem to matter whether I try to connect from the same server or from a remote server. I always get "connection failure".
Now, I am wondering if it's because I need to install or configure something... like WDDX's SDK ? Do I have to or it's part...

It looks like all I needed to do is to put the owner of the table in front of the table...
so.. SELECT * FROM owner.table1 works perfectly !
