i dont know much about these complier optimization options, but i searched on net and i found it can be given using "-O" flag, and i cant see any -O flag used during the compilation.
And what i found is the only difference on the two servers is "-g"...

I have a library compiled on a SUN 5.8 server using C compiler.
When i take the same source code to another SUN server which has same version of OS and C compiler, the library sizes are having huge (almost double the size) differences. There are no compilation or linking errors/warnings...
i think thts not correct because i can see the history from other accounts ..
n wht u r talking is... when we want to save the commands even after we close the shell thn savehist no. of commands get saved in the .history file ....
HISTFILE is undefined ...
what should i set it to. .
and i am not a root user so i dont have access to /.sh_history file
and i want to c my .history file but its empty
my question is y nothin is gettin saved in that file
thier r no issues regarding viewing the file, file size is '0'
i have problems using arrow keys and backspace key
y is this happening...
when i do stty intr '^c' backspace key works perfectly fine y ?
and how do i activate arrow keys

another one said if it is (FreeBSD) 0x80 then its not a problem..
