    VLAN VoIP and PC

This is not totally related, but it sounds as if you may be able to assist. If using a nbx 100(3com), are the phones and workstations on the same subnet? I know the workstations actually use the ethernet connection coming from the phone.

new domain server 2003 and no-ip.com

I hope I posted this in the correct forum. I recently purchased a domain, stumbaugh.org. Prior to that I had setup a local domain controller/dns server(server2003). I already had setup a domain for my domain controller named rodge(.com), this is just an active directory domain for local use...

Neutec, thanks for all of your help. Okay, I do want webhostcompany to handle the dns, so how should my forward zone look? For start of authority, should I be using the webhostcompany server info? How about nameserver? For some reason I have 2 nameserver entries in this zone, one for the server...

thanks neutec! Listen I do think I understand mx and a records, but how about forward lookup zones? On my original domain controller, I also installed dns and when I setup the second domain controller for stumbaugh.org, I added a forward lookup zone for stumbaugh.org. Do I need this? It doesn't...

server 2003 exchange 2003 new domain cable connection

I have one server I setup using server 2003 enterprise. This server was setup as a domain controller(rodge domain)and a dns server(just to learn about doing it). I use charter pipeline for my isp and have a static ip address which I use on my router(dlink). I use a 3com shark fin cable modem...

    domain controller server 2003

I am using server 2003 for my local domain controller. I use charter for my isp(cable) and a dlink router. I setup a local domain(rodge) and all pc's log into it currently. Over the weekend I bought a public domain. I'd like to eventually host it at my home and also setup an exchange server...

    Deleted Partition

LenzilT, where did you get a copy of getdataback for ntfs? It seems like a great product but awfully expensive for just one partition restore.

windows xp pro won't boot without cd

linney - I will check the event log, thanks! garbot - I deleted and created the partitions through windows setup. It should automatically set it as active when I choose where I want to install, shouldn't it? I am also planning on trying to boot with just the smaller drive, thanks!

windows xp pro won't boot without cd

I left the jumpers on the master as they were. It's possible that it is set to master only. The slave drive was jumped correctly. I am not sure if they showed up as slave/master in bios, but they were showing up with the correct size. I will try it with just the master also and relook at the...

windows xp pro won't boot without cd

I recently added a 120 gb h/d to a system with a 40 gb h/d. This was a gateway machine(766) that had a dvd reader and a cdrw on the secondary channel as slave/master. I added the 120 gig to the primary channel as a slave. The 40 gig was the master on the primary. I installed(deleted windows me...

All tapes appear as cleaning media

We're using an HP Surestore DAT24x6. Yes, it does now show cleaning tape after I manually checked the cleaning media box under the slot properties. No, we use labels, but they're from a label maker. Normally, it appears as cleaning media, but for some reason this time it didn't.

Unable to initialize remote agent for windows NT/2000

Don't know if this makes a difference or not, but I get this message on a backup selection, but the remote machine is win95 and I did install the 95 version I downloaded from the Veritas website.

All tapes appear as cleaning media

After I put that post up, I took a look again at some things. I noticed that we hadn't had a successful cleaning in over a week. I also noticed that the last cleaning lasted over 5 minutes and that seemed to be the average time for any previous cleanings. The drive has been in use since beofre I...

All tapes appear as cleaning media

SQL Bill, you helped me. I had a cleaning tape that was showing up as unknown media, so I checked the properties, put a check in the box you spoke of and now I can run the cleaning job. It completed in 4 seconds though, is that normal?
