Hi all
I have a form which has various subforms embedded in it. I also have 3 charts in the form which are based on the data in 3 of the subforms.
The problem is that each time I close the form, an error/info message comes up:
"The object is locked so any changes you make will be discarded...
Occasionally when I export data from some other applications to excel, they will not be recognised as, say, numbers unless I activate each cell. If I try Format/Cells and select Number, this will have no effect - it is almost as if excel does not realise there is anything in the cell.
As a...
Thanks, but the file is huge (about 10MB!) so it's difficult to email.
The code basically goes on the same as above, but the values for A119 continue going up by 2 (2,4,6,8,10,12,...,100)
I think your other solution should be OK though.
Thanks again
I think putting it in different parts of the code is the best idea...
Thanks for your help.
The code starts off like this: (but A119 goes up to 100!)
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Application.DisplayStatusBar = True
Application.StatusBar = "Please wait..."...
actually I think it might be a bit tricky!
There is a row of formulae (row 1, say) which have a common variable (x). Each cell in row 1 relates to a different value of x
The macro sets x to a value, then copies the relevant cell from row 1 and pastes it into the row below as a value. It then...
I have written a macro in Excel, and have turned off the screen updating.
The problem is it takes a long time and ideally I would like to be able to show the progress in the status bar.
I have it saying "Please wait..." but I would really like to show the indicator that fills up with...
I'm sorry for all the confusion and hassle I have caused...
Basically I have a number of items and for each item I work out a return (%) for each item for each month. If I want to work out the return on each item for a whole year (or any other period), this is calculated by the formula:
(1+R) =...
Is it possible to call this in a query?
I don't know enough about how to use code to make it run...
When I try to use it in a query, an error message comes up saying "Undefined function 'DoProduct' in expression"
Sorry - 1 more question! The above works great (though I had to put Product=1 in the code instead) but how can I make it an aggregate function, so I can use it in a totals query?
i.e I want to be able to say Product(table1.field1) and have it multiply together all the values in field1.
any ideas?
thanks for the answers, but not sure I fully understand!
essentially all I need is a function that will say
Product()= x1*x2*x3*...*xn
in much the same way that
Sum()= x1+x2+x3+...+xn
could you let me know how i would do this???
Is it possible to use the PRODUCT function from Excel in a totals query in Access?
If I need to write a new function, how do I do this - I know how to write a function, but not if there are a variable number of parameters!
