Domain Policy for file and printer sharing???

I used a batch file to call an app that would do the trick. I placed the file in the login script and it worked on about 9 out of 10 computers. On the rest, I installed it manually. I can email you the script and program if you would like.

I have used the runas command before, but I am unsure if there is a way to make an app ALWAYS run as over the network.

Domain Policy for file and printer sharing???

I ran the tool and it didn't seem to make any changes. Am I doing something wrong? - I unzipped it to a folder and double clicked the .bat file. A command box popped up, something was written in it and it closed. The file sharing box was not checked after a reboot.

Security Implications of File and Print Sharing????

I think you are right. On my client pc I have three shares - $admind, C$, and IPC$ - They are all there for "administrative purposes and I think that is all needed.

    Advanced Client push

I have made it a habit to check the logs to see if I am getting any warings. I was given an MP warning for IIS before I had it installed and you may be able to solve problems quickly by browsing the site status log for errors

Is it possible to only allow administrators to make new permissions?

    Advanced Client push

I am pretty sure you do. The client is the same account that is the administrator on the local machine. It gives SMS the permissions to install things

Security Implications of File and Print Sharing????

Hi, I have found out that it is neceassary to turn on file and print sharing for sms to install push clients and send out advertisements/collect data. I am about to do a large scale install of SMS clients - around 300. None of the machines in my domain have file and print sharing enabled by default, so right now it is not possible to push the clients out. Is there a way to enable file and print sharing through the active directory group...
