    busy VOIP line?

    I am new to the VOIP seen. I have setup a 2.7 asterisk box with 1 VOIP line. My question is if someone calls the VOIP line does asterisk take the call over and free up the line, or is the line busy until the caller hangs up? Thanks for all the help -Tim
