My PC displays Program not responding when I try to delete messages in Outlook Express. I know I have enough resource. I have tried different settings in Tools - Options - Maintenance but have had no joy. Any ideas welcomed.
Right Click my computer
Select manage
Select Shared Folders
Select Open Files
This should show if there is a lock on the file and who or what has it.
If this file is on the file server the above commands need to be done there.
On starting Outlook XP the above messae appears. I have tried re-creating the profile in question. I have also upgraded to service pack 3. Finally I tried a run command
to open outlook. The command is:
Outlook.exe /resetfolders /clearreminders.
This still did not fix the problem. Bar reloading...
No i have not changed computers or recreated the mailboxes.
What I can tell you is that around this time we were infitrated by the sasser virus. Could this have any impact?
Trying to archive emails older than a specific date. It did not seem to work then determined it does it on modified date. Noticed all modified dates had changed to the same date. This was a total of 2000 emails and this is why my archiving was failing.Does anyone know what can cause this. Virus...
Yes it does have a touchpad and we did actually think it could be that. Strangley enough there is no option to disable in windows. Can this be done in the Bios?

Strange one here. I have a problem where when typing text the cursor jumps up 3 or four lines and you end up retyping over text already there. I have virus checked the PC, patched the office xp software but still no joy.
Any ideas.

I have changed the notify on to notify off within the advanced tab in ip-tcp. It only worked once I got the users to re-logon after the change. I also set it back to notify on and it worked as expected
having an Ip range of 132.132.0.0 and a network mask of 255.255.224.0 I worked out the maximum number of hosts is 7905. Can anyone please confirm this.
