Pessimistic locking (Oracle)
You can explicitly lock a record using the "select for update" statement. Oracle will lock the record and keep it locked until you issue a commit or a rollback. I have used this in OLE and it works fine. One caveat however, make sure your application does in fact issue a commit or...- donpablo

Date Format "mm/dd/yyy" doesn't work with 1/2/2002
I have noticed this problem in the past and it was due to the regional settings on the workstation. My short date format was M/D/YYYY. Once I changed the short date format to MM/DD/YYYY then the VB date$ function worked properly. To check your regional settings, go to Start Menu -> Settings -...- donpablo
