Finnally, I found out that there is a DLT drive test programm that can be downloaded from the Quantum web site (www.quantum.com). I ran the program tests and no errors came up. So problem does did not come from the DLT drives.
I replaced the tapes and the backup completed successfully...
I use Arcserve 2000 on a Windows 2000 SP4 server (backup hardware: DELL 130 T library, with two QUANTUM DLT7000 drives). The last full backup of files was cancelled by Arcserve after 15 hours of inunterrupted backup because of the following problem:

CA has finally published yesterday (april 4) a correction to the confusing explanations of QO52528. See QO52950: http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnt/QO52950.html . Not tested yet, but it seems to be the the right patch.
There is no stupid question. Actually, in the media pool the # of days is "5", the # of tapes "1". Hmm.. I made no changes to these values before and after applying SP5. Before it works. Any idea ? Do you know if any patch is available ?
Since I applied SP5 on Arcserve 2000 Advanced Edition, tape retention as configured in the media pool is not working correctly. Once a job has been done, the tape is moved to save set, but never moved back to scratch set after the defined retention time. I have to manually move tapes to scratch...
