Use beutility to stop all the services and then disable them so they will not start opon reboot. Reboot and try to remove through add/remove.
What are the issues you are experiencing that you think a reinstall will fix?
Is it possible to restore the permissions on files without restoring the files themselves? We had some corruption on the NTFS partition of our SAN and after a CHKDSK the security descriptors of some files have been changed.
I read in another post about the possibility of choosing to restore...

I have read this article and I have a reported instance of this occuring BUT we do not have SPS installed on the backend server, Exchange 2003 SP1 is installed (this security update was rolled up in it) and doing a cscript request...
Location: Mailbox Store, Database TAB - Does this only get set when you use the Backup utility of Windows or should Brighstor Arcserve 11 with Exchange 2003 agent set this when I backup the Private Information Store?
If I backup the Private Information Store using the Arcsrrve Agent does this...
Can someone quickly set something straight for me ...
Is a blade server a true replacement for 'pizza box' servers? Do you have different OS installs on each blade and apps so effectively they each blade is a different server with seperate name, domain membership, ip address etc
Many thanks...
Ah, that makes sense then. How to you propose I turn off the permission for users to view each others calendar.
Under the Permission TAB in Outlook for each users Calendar folder Default Access is set to None and nothing checked beneath.
Is it in Active Directory Users & Groups that I need to...
I understand how to free/busy data is kept, but why can users see the Subject of an appointment/meeting (not the meeting itself) if they select "Show Calendar Details" under Scheduling?
This happens for all out calendars and the only way I can stop the Subject of the meeting/appointment from...
I have set, through the Outlook admin module for Group Policy, that all Outlook clients have their sensitivity set to "Private".
This is to ensure whilst browsing free/busy time people cannot see confidential meeting details (ie. for example m&a targets listed in meetings details).

I have removed the all policies and tunnels associated with a certain device, saved to flash and rebooted. Whenever I type debug crypto isakmp I get a deluge of info about the device still trying to setup a tunnel to the IP address removed above even though nowhere in my config is it...
Tunnel comes up. Both have isakmp keepalive running. PIX has two other VPN's to PIX's that work fine.
After a while tunnel drops to Sonicwall (about 5 - 10 mins)
Local and remote can ping each other whilst up.
Debug info:
# debug crypto isakmp
# debug crypto ipsec

ISADB: reaper checking...
Did you get any resolution on this IPSEC(sw_esp_decap): fail antireplay check error?
I ma having similar problems with a PIX-Sonicwall connection.
Thanks,
Mark
Let me rephrase this better:
Can I reinstall Microsoft Exhange Server 2003 Standard if I rebuild the server with Windows 2000 Server using same name & IP and then restore priv1.edb and pub1.edb?
Thanks,

I need to rebuild the 1st 2003 Exch server in our domain.
When I try to open the Public Folders, so I can go Show System Foders, and then redelegate the ownership and replica's to a 2nd Exch server, my System Manager hangs.
I have no problem opening public folders on the server through...
I migrated a server this weekend and stupidly forgot to copy the Public Store before I did. I had exmerged all the mailboxes but the public slipped my mind.
Is there any easy way to get access to this. I have the database files as I copied all Exchange dirs before wiping the server?
Thanks...
Have you had any luck with this? I have a similar problem. I thought it might be my DB's being corrupt but I ran an eseutil /g on all three and they passed OK.
Mark
I need to get rid of an old SBS 4.5 which runs Exchange 5.5. This is a legacy thing and is a real pain as it cannot be made to trust my Win2K domains.
A lot of the DB's seem to have corruptions in them as well.
Should I wait for Exchange 2003 or should I buy 2000? If I get Exchange server...
Is this possible? Running a DELL Poweredge 1600SC with 2 GB P4, 512 MB RAM, 2 x 18 GB 10 RPM SCSI drives.
Will upgrade RAM to 1 GB.
I am being told that this is possible, but not recommended. What do you guys think?
