Some time ago I put into place a 'block list' using the non-GUI method below and it worked fine. However, some e-mail addresses that weren't junk found thier way in, so I decided to delete the entire list and start again.
Now, a month later, I have a new list and attempted to paste it in as...
Hi
I've been using the message filtering function in the Internet Mail Service and it is all working... except that it is not sending non-delivery reports to the senders.
Any ideas?¿?
thanks
Actually. Got a new problem. When I click on an e-mail with an attachment, the "Opening Mail Attachment" box pops up automatically asking if I want to open or save the attachment...
... Any Ideas why this has suddenly started happening?
If your e-mails with attachments take an age to open or if when you try to export to a pst file you get the message:
"Some items could not be copied. They were either moved or deleted, or access was denied"

Is there anyway to connect to a network folder on our NT4 server from a windows 95 machine without it loging on to the domain (i.e. windows logon)?
Perhaps there's a 'net use' command I can use to make it logon to the folder with a specific username?
Thanks
I've just reinstalled win95 on an old computer and I can't find anywhere on microsoft's site where to download a version of internet explorer that will install on the 95 machine. The current version (that came on the 95 CD) is internet explorer 3, so windows update wont work...
any ideas?
thanks
I recently reinstalled win 2000 and at 1st it would shutdown and turn off my computer fine. However, since I've ran all the windows updates, when I try to shutdown, at the point the computer should turn off, it restarts!
any ides?
Thanks
Not sure if this is your issue, but I've had Win2000 Pro randomly reboot on me a few times on different AMD processor systems. Turned out to be a problem with the USB ports and putting in a PCI USB card solved it.
Does anyone know how I can set NT4 to connect a shared network folder as a mapped network driver without anyone logging in 1st?
This is because I've the server is set to automatically re-boot once a week, but if this happens, the backup software can't backup a mapped network drive without me...
We've recently bought a hardware firewall which is also a
16 port network switch.
I've replaced our old hub with this switch and all the
computers (Win XP, Win 2000, Win NT & Win 95) see each
other over the network fine. However, even though the
Win95 machines can browse the network OK...
We're running exchange server 5.5 SP4 (on our Win NT4 SBS Server) and using Outlook 2k on our Windows 2k terminal server...
When opening unread e-mails that have attachments, outlook hangs for about 10 seconds before it will open the e-mail.
This happened once before and our then computer...
Strange¿ - Dual boot it actually something XP should create no problems (Same for Win2000 + NT). Sorry that your install got messed up, but my honest advise would be for you to try again because it is just something that really really should work with 98 installed and XP installed afterwards...
With 98 running, put in your XP disk and start installing it. Keep your eye on the options. One thing you have to change is "Upgrade" to "New Install". The other is something like "Let me choose the drive windows instals to during installation" (You'll find this...
If 98 and 2K are installed already, currently booted up by swapping over jumpers to change master drive, can dual boot be used instead?
I guess not, because 2K will suddenly be on D:\ but all its settings will be C:\WinNT, or C:\Documents and Settings or C:\ANYTHING! - Just hoping it stores...
This is how I did it... Probably not the most advisable way... but heh.. it worked!
Booted into command prompt (dos). Deleted all the folders on C and autoexcec.bat and config.sys (well renamed them atleast). Then ran Win 98 setup from the dos prompt. Once setup finished, it rebooted and the...
I think there are. I tried that once before (just boot.ini) and it didn't want to know. I guess there is a file/command that tells the thing to actually 'look' at boot.ini?
Thanks!!!
