The fix to this problm is that you must disable MS2000's communication with MS access server. This is done on the W2k client and I forgot the exact details but it is a radio button that need to be clikcd saying 'disble'.
What is happening is that the W2K client is sending security informaiton...
I am having trouble connecting to my server using backup exec.
First when I try to 2x on the BE application it asks me to log in. There are 4 fields that I must fill out. The are: 1. the server name, 2. the user name, 3. the password, and 4. the network name.

hmmmm, i think a lost network connection would have shown up in the event log. since it did not, i am ruling that option out. sounds fair? if not please correct me.

log in as the domain admin on the SERVER. add user there. then go to computer u are trying to use and make sure u are on the domain. all should be well. piece of cake.
i think this is an option, as i can not recall since it has been a while....hit the 'restart' button. it should be located at the top left of the sceen on a pull down menu.
I just checked the services and all the services are logged on as "LocalSystem" except for "ASP .NET State Service" which is logged on as ".\ASPNET"
Also, there are no scheduled tasks running when I checked the Scheduled Tasks in Control Panel.

I am still getting the same error. After further investigation I found the following inthe app log:
event 1704 - scecli - "Security policy in the group policy objects are applied successfully."
This event occurs exactly 5 minutes before every 528 event.

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say as I am new to this stuff. Can you please explain it in simpler terms for me to understand? Like what is a 'service, scheduled'? and why do you think that the starting of a 'service, scheduled' would make the system show me as logging in...

I am using 2000 and XP. NTFS on XP and FAT32 on 2000. I am about to convert 2000 to NTFS to see if problem still exists but on XP it exists for sure.
