Formula language processes lists in one big gulp every time. This can be hard to get used to, but it can also be very powerful.

Thanks for the Note. I will try to remember that this is an option.
It turns out I downloaded the wrong file somehow. When I installed the right file, things worked as advertised.

My book assumes that I have Designer 6i and tells me to do something in the gui that will auto sequence those numbers.
Excitingly enough, the code provided with the book is all in a .dmp file which I can't read with Designer 6i.
I also have to automatically do 'created by'...
Hmmmm. It would seem that the problem is that you can't run Designer 6i in a PersonalOracle only environment. It won't work on Local, against a local database.
Could this be correct?
Thanks,
Kevin
Hello, I'm dead new at this, but I've got a lot of experience with other systems.
I have successfully installed PersonalOracle for 98 on my Windows ME system. Now to keep up with the book that I have purchased, I needed to install Designer 6i Release 2. I have done so, apparently successfully...
Well, I have successfully installed Personal Oracle. Mistakes made include:
1) Somehow I downloaded the wrong file from technet.oracle.com. I don't know what it was I downloaded. The two files that are available now are 597 or 195 mb. The one I downloaded was 462mb. At any rate, the correct file...
After all the great tips from MikeLacey, Nebuchadnezzar, and NettyMan, I am in everyone's debt. Thank you very much.
I can return the favor when it comes to integrating with Domino databases and JavaScript.

Well, that's a definite answer. I do not have either of those files on my system.
I redid the install process from scratch, and was never offered the opportunity to install the server, nor the test database. I was only given the options for which client I would install.
I will find a better...
I'm sorry I can't be much help. There's not a lot of detail. Usually the loop problems are SMTP related. Is this true in this case? If so then perhaps a look at the mail header would tell you what has been happening to the memo. Perhaps you could fire off a full mail trace and see what it turns...
It sounds like you might be running Windows NT service pack 6. If so, our friends at MS ran into a regression error when trying to make some TCP numbers more random, and disabled sockets for non-administrative users of the NT server or workstation.
Upgrade the boxes to sp 6a or higher, and your...
Before you invest any significant time in helping a complete stranger, let me tinker a little bit more. I am working at home at night, so I can't get much done on a daily basis. Last night I uninstalled everything. Tonight I will try to ensure that all directories are erased, and the registry is...
...no matter how I attempt to start the program.
What background processes should I have running from boot up? What should start when I start SQL*Plus?
Everything I read says that PersonalOracle should have a server, but a little more reading a book I bought indicates to me that ONLY the...
One of the advantages of coding for an Intranet. I know I am coding for IE 5.x. Of course, the idea was nuked anyway, but thanks for the pointer. Some day I hope to move out into the wilds of free-range browsers.

>How do you create a cross-domain cookie:
If you are running "search.abc.com" and "found.abc.com", you can create a cookie with a domain parameter of '.abc.com', and both of the domains will be able to read it as if it were their own. (Using IE 5.0. You mileage may vary)...
...the NT version of Personal Oracle. I downloaded psoracle816nt.zip (462mb), which is advertised to be the version for Windows 98.
I have tried SQL*Plus on the command line, and in the GUI both. Both give approximately the same errors. There's nothing out there for them to find or connect to...
...asks me Installation Types for Oracle8i Client 8.1.6.0.0
Perhaps I downloaded something that has no server?
At any rate, whether I use the GUI SQL*Plus, or the command line, I get errors approximating what I have copied below. You will notice that it never asks me for a database name. I...
If I understand your question, this is a matter of client preference. The server will not (and definitely SHOULD not!) look for the user every time the user receives an e-mail. The client, however, can set the default interval in their preferences between checks to the mail server.
Some people...
FYI: The solution was to create a cross domain cookie that abc.xyz.com and def.xyz.com could both read, and pass the information from window to window via the cookie. Works like a champ.
