At work using standard Recordset declerations all my VB code using recordsets works fine. at home when ever I try to use any of my code with Recordsets in it they fail due to the error "User Defined type not defined"...
I am trying to filter data trhough uncontrolled selections in the form header. I have this successfully working on a form that only requires individual (single) filter sets.
I need to now get this to work on a form(table) that has 3 fields as its primary key. My linking constantly fails.

If you look at this bit of code it both adds 2 string values together and converts them to a decimal point value "double"
If you just want to convert a string and can be sure it will be numeric then just use the fomat part of this utility.

forgot to mention "CurrentUser" is the users "system/login id" so that it can be linked back to each person. without worrying about different users fudging access.
An other option for this is to set up a "Security Check" process. Link this to the "On Open" event for each form.

Thanks for all your help guys but it still doesn't work. Think I will have to format and rebuild the system. I think there must be something corrupted in the installation as it work before this rebuild but doesn't work now. It seems that it is determined to "not" work.
it has 3 10.1.1.1 for usb config.
10.1.1.2 for UTP config and 10.1.1.3 for Advanced diagnostics... or something. Thats what the manual says, unless I have mis-read something.
