I changed the version of putty from 0.52 to 0.55 and it worked. Must have newer version of sshd on new servers. As soon as I figure out how to check software versions on Linux I'll know for sure.
Thanks for everyones help.
Using putty to SSH my login fails with "access denied". So I have a couple of Suse 9.0 servers. I can use putty to ssh into server1 using name or ip address no problem.
Try to ssh using putty into second server, it ask for login name and password but always gives a "access denied" message. Now I...
julianbarnett, how do you automate a nightly ufsdump? Does the system need to be in single user, can a script do all this.
Sorry for the question but I'm new to this Solaris and still learning.

This is just a guess as I know very little about this Sun stuff, but is the email server allowing relay?
I had a problem where a Sun server sending mail through my email server and email server needed to allow relay from the sending server. I added the Sun servers name to the allow list and...
I have a remote user uploading files to my system and I would like to restrict the uploading to one directory and not allow "cd"ing to anywhere else, or copy, read etc. I would also like to have the uploaded file be owned by another user after it is uploaded without manually chowning...
Thank you StarTAC. Further investigation of the Cisco router shows it's a 1604 and has a ISDN-BRI port, and a ISDN Modem port in it so I am set and can configure the router after the ISDN line is installed.
Now is there a site with tutorials or examples of configurations for these routers or...

So the question is how or what to use as a backup if the...

I've looked at the Redhat web and they are pushing version 8.0. I...
Chris, I put the command "raidstart /dev/md0" in the rc.local followed by mount /dev/md0. That did work. After rebooting I checked with a df -k and there it was.
I already had the fstab file modified to mount the device but that did not work because of the raidstart not running. The...

So where...
