This does not work, this is what is causing the problem. I agree you should be able to do this, though the drivers does not allow it, hence needing to know another way or how to install tcaudiag to manipulate the rom directly.

Does any one know how to configure any options for the 3com 905C card in NT 4 Server.
Unlike 98 or 2K, the driver does not have a properties page and the drivers for the past few revisions have been shipping without the old useful GUI Diags.
3Coms site does not directly answer this issue, though...

The reason ramdrive has installed as c: is because win98 does not support ntfs so when it boots it does not see the hdd.
A more worse scenario is the drive has no partiton on and c: is the first availible letter.
Can you elaborate on exactly what you did, done etc upto this point!!!!
Thanks for the tip. You were close with the msconfig. In the normal tab there is an advanced options button. In the resulting page it says standy by has been disabled, click to enable. Now everything is back to normal
Thanks again.
After my notebook failed to resume correctly from a standby state, I was offered the option by ME to disable all future standy options and support. I inadvertantly selected yes instead of no and now every standby option in the control panel, on shutdown etc are not availible for selection.

I need to connect two pc's together with Cat5 cabling with out the use of a hub.
I remeber sombody telling me that for it to work you have to make up a cable with one or two of the colours swapped/twisted at the connector end where as with a hub they all stay straight.
Does anybody know what two...
Using the microsoft windows converter it can take anything from 10 mins to a couple of hours depending on how much data you have.
The quickest way is if you can get hold of a copy of partition magic 4 or above it will convert in two mins max.
The microsoft converter will give an approximate...
acpi wont have anything to do with it. Win2k will know from your bios that you have an apm machine, though this detection does not start until the gui setup starts.
I think your first priority is to remove the ezbios. The screen can be made null so dont take this as gospal its gone.
Was trawling...
No drawbacks to converting, the only benifit is you get a 4k cluster as oppossed to a 16 or 32k. depending on what sort of files you have i.e relative sizes, gains may not be as great as you expect.
Change to fat32 anyway as you have nothing to lose.
Be warned. If memory serves, fdisk will not remove the program because it will have to be installed to enable fdisk to see a large hdd, therefore fdisk will not remove it or it defeats the object of having the program installed to start with. I suggest you contact maxtor for the program.
no, the limit only applies because nt needs a fat partition to enable dual booting if nesc as win 9x does not see ntfs partitons. You can have any limt you like with fat32, theres no point in using fat16. If you do you are limited to 2gb per partiton.
Have you removed Office Sp2, as according to many reputible it press consultants office sp2 causes more problems than it fixes. Have you removed both service packs for office removed office, reinstalled office and run without the service packs? Why apply the two service packs? did they fix a...
I think your problem revolves around the ez-bios software. It is a crap piece of software designed to enable the harddisk to be lba'd if the system bios does not support it.
If memory serves it will not automaticaly boot off a floppy, you have to tell it when prompted or from a key stroke. The...
If you use the latest version of pqmagic, 6 or 7 I think, you can combine the two partitons, sya d: and e:, the only problem left then is any applications installed on e: will need reinstalling to account for the change of letter.
