Favorite Folders in OL2003 Don't "stick"

Hi there, I can add folders to the Favorite Folders list in OL2003 however each time I restart OL, the list has gone back to the default. Is there a setting I need to look at or is this a fault? Cheers, Pete

    Mail keeps synchronising

Yes, it's handy to have access to mails on the go, although I have a wireless mail solution, it's limited to me having 300 of the most recent messages in my inbox, which at over 100 mails a day is not much history. Activesync on my PDA is set to sync regardless of timeframe.

    Mail keeps synchronising

Hi there, I have an XDA II synching on a WinXP machine using ActiveSync 4.2. For some reason, everytime I cradle my XDA, it completely synchs all mail in my Outlook inbox. It only seemed to start happening when I moved from ActiveSync 3.8 to 4.2 so I'm guessing it's something to do with AS...

    OL2002: Outlook phone number format

Hi there, I'd like to find a way to disable the automatic phone number formatting that Outlook applies when you enter a phone number into a contact. It's quite annoying and it quite frankly does a terrible job of interpreting the number format. Any help would be appreciated. Peter

XDAII: Reduce SMS makes no different to RAM

    Multidimensional arrays in Crystal

Thanks Gary, my head was starting to hurt...! I'm trying to create a matrix, rows and columns, to help me count the flow of calls in a multiple call centre environment. For instance, the rows are the source groups, and the columns are the destination groups. The report has a formula that for...

    Getting busiest time band

Hi Pete, Could you create a running total with a formula contained that uses a variable to store the total for the grouped interval. You can then check using the "previous" function to see if the current value is greater than the previous one. If it is then save it to the variable otherwise...

OL2002: Data file was not closed properly

Hi KenWright, been there, installed Outlook Shutdown add-in, no change. Compacted the folders. No change. Ran ScanPST a number of times, no errors found. As I said, this is an Outlook bug. I know for a fact that OL is closed when I shut down, and as I said, I'm not the only one. I don't...

OL2002: Data file was not closed properly

Hi, I'm using WinXP and Outlook 2002 (XP) and annoyingly, each time I start it up, I get this error message advising that the data file (and most of my personal folders appear) was not closed properly and is being checked for errors. I also uncradle my PDA before shutting down OL and I also...

Using LIKE to search for "*" in text

Hi Ro, Aaah, great point and indeed, query performance could be an issue as the database grows. I've not had experience with SQL expressions but after re-reading your suggestion, will try that when I get back into the office Monday (it's the weekend here in Australia). Thanks for getting back...

Using LIKE to search for "*" in text

Hi there, I am retrieving records using the LIKE operator on a text field. The pattern I'm searching for is *HIC* (including the asterisks). So, when I use ...LIKE "*HIC*"... I'm finding text fields that have the word "which" and so forth. I've also tried "**HIC**" but this also returned any...
