I want to display multiple lines of text in a dialog but VBS doesn't acknowledge CR and LF.
Is there another way to achieve this?

I am trying to establish whether or not a call to a function is replaced by the value it generates. I have this code
Function readInput(CellIndex)
' debug
WScript.Echo "In readInput"
readInput = InputBox("Enter Coefficient " & CellIndex, vbOKOnly+vbQuestion, "Coefficient Entry")
' debug...
For the record:
[flip] I now have a system which is running VBScript. [flip]
What did it for me?
1. From command line (run as administrator) "regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll"
2. Locate "%windir%\inf\wsh.inf (on Windows 7 this equates to C:\Windows\inf\wsh.inf")
--> right...
I have tried the double-click way and also by running in the IDE (PrimalScript 2015). No luck!
FTR: These are the extra software options I get to open the file
If I run 'assoc' on a command line as administrator I get the line ".vbs=VBSFile".

I have just installed PrimalScript 2015 and written this very complex script file:

Option Explicit
On Error Resume Next
Dim My_Message
My_Message = "Hello World"
MsgBox My_Message

When I try to run this I get:

Some form of order has appeared out of the chaos! [laughtears]
I had checked the boot order, but to be certain I shoved all the USB (including the External HDD) options to the end of the queue. This BIOS does not seem to have a means to disable those options.
By a process of attrition it...
I had tried the individual RAM sticks trick without any change.
The Cruzer is one of my Thumb drives. I disconnected the WiFi (Huawei) and the External HDD (GoFlex). Perfect boot.
Reconnected the WiFi - perfect boot.
Reconnected External HDD - no-boot loop!

I put the machine to sleep last night instead of powering down. It is working normally since I woke it up. I'm getting too scared to power it down because I'll wear out...
Cable re-seating didn't make any difference. I cannot access BIOS while in loop, must RAM Snap then call for BIOS.
I don't really know what I am looking at when the BIOS thing is up but it does not tell me anything is wrong and I cannot see anything out of place.
I have removed each of the two...

Thanks Paul, but I already had that beastie. I unlocked and relocked at the last install of SWX, but it hasn't solved my problem.
I guess there is no update for the update so it doesn't cause any conflicts. No?[bowleft]

I am having trouble running SolidWorks 2014 SP2 and a diagnostic points me at MS Update KB 3072630.
What does this thing do, should I uninstall it, and if so, how do I do that?

Regarding Firefox and Chrome, I stick with IE11 from preference, although I virtually have to use Firefox at the community college. It seems that IT Personnel all over have a bias against MS (not just IT Personnel [cyclops]) and the website code they produce ignores standards...
IE11 is playing up badly. It doesn't like opening or downloading PDFs (I use Foxit Reader), and lately it baulks at doing a Google Search.
I have a feeling that it needs a tune-up.
How can I give it one?

I am using Visio 2013 and for me to say, "I'm having trouble with Visio." is to be polite.
I can't find practical user training in Visio anywhere, and documentation is even more scarce.
Does anyone have any polite suggestions apart from "Use SmartDraw" or something?
Thanks

I guess there are a lot of people who, like me, treat things that appear on their desktop unannounced but looking like they might be official with the deepest suspicion. You would have thought that MS would be wide awake to that by now. They have had a few years to learn...
I have been blessed with the arrival of a white 'Windows Flag' icon amongst the little icons at the right of my task bar. If I hover the cursor over it the pop-up reads 'Get Windows 10'. I dare not click on it in case it installs Windows 10 (I shudder at the prospect). [purpleface]
