It seems that Windows have discontinued Windows Movie Maker as of Jan 2017. I've deleted the version from my PC but now I want it back - does anyone know somewhere secure and free I can download it from ?
Thanks !
Dan

I'm looking for a formula to find a max value and then return an associated field
E.g. On sheet 1 I might have ABC1 in cell A1. I'd like a formula in Cell B1 that:
Goes to Sheet 2 and looks at the data - e.g.:
ABC1 11 Banana
ABC1 15 Apple
DEF3 32 Peach
DEF3 18 Pineapple...
Hi there,
I'm struggling to write an excel formula to do what I want to do. I have a list of Countries and each is supposed to have a unique rating in the list. I want to put a formula in to check this. In a perfect world the formula would come back with the number of unique records for the...
Hi Skip,
Sorry again. I'm not sure what kind of shape I'm working on or what the name of the instance is. I'm attaching an example of what I get out of BI. 1000 thanks for any help you can provide
Dan...
Sorry Skip.
Once I have the data in an Excel sheet, it is then linked to from a Word Document. In order to get the graphs to have borders looking OK I need the images nicely positioned in a single cell. - I have to link to the cells rather than the images because I'm using a link that I can...
Thanks for that Skip. This spreadsheet is created via a Business Objects export function and I don't have any control over how it starts out. My macro then steps in to tidy it up - I hope that explains why I have to do it this way.
I tried running your script but got the error below. Am I doing...
Hi there,
I'm trying (and failing) to write a script to take an image that is already in an Excel work sheet and put it into a single cell - preferably so there is a 1mm gap between the image and the borders of the cell. No idea how to write this code and can't locate much on the internet. It...
Hi there - just wondering - when using the irr function should I use inflated or uninflated values ? Or can you use either as long as you're clear what you've done ?
I have a very simple macro as follows:
Sub Run_Cap_Rate_A()
Range("AF8").GoalSeek Goal:=0, ChangingCell:=Range("C7")
End Sub
I want to change the code so that the Range("AF8") bit varies according to what is in cells in a sheet.
In my sheet I have a column number in Cell A1 and a Row number...
Hi Gavona,
Thanks for this - yup it's a good start - but the field mapping is somewhat a dark art involving the need for named ranges (with no help apparent on if named ranges should include headers, recommended naming etc). I found that it became a whole lot simpler if I saved my file as a CSV...
Hi,
I want to import a series of calendar events from excel into outlook. I don't know how I define a format or how to do it. Can anyone help ?
Thanks
Dan
In Excel, I have a column several thousand rows long with notes on some of the cells. I want to create another column next to this column which bring the text from the notes into the cells (so I can then quickly isolate all the cells with notes and sort by them).
Does anyone have a macro/way to...
Hi there,
I want to run some code that picks up whatever is in Cell A1 on sheet1 and then uses this as the File Property: Category. If I do this while running a record macro it doesn't write the code. Can anyone help ?
Thanks
Dan
Hi Glenn,
I haven't really got an issue with the SUMIF function - I use it every day quite happily.
Maybe if I explain the problem I have differently:
If Cell A1 has a filepath and Cell B1 has a filename. I'd like Cell C1 return whatever is in Cell A1 from the filepath/filename specified in...
Hi Glenn,
If there is a way to do it without having to have the sheets open that would be best. If not I'm happy to make do with them needing to be open.
The Sumif Function takes a range as it's first variable this is generally a range of columns as in B to Y. The second variable is the actual...
Thanks John - I have tried using the INDIRECT function - I did think that would be the way to go - but I'm still struggling with the actual syntax in terms of apostrophes etc
