If you are running this on the same server where the data is stored, then it is probably the UNC paths. Try changing the code to the physical path e.g. d:\data\shared\etc\file.vbs

First of all, check that in the General Options (where the hard disks are listed) that the drive is set to LBA. If this option is not there, then the problem is most likely a BIOS limitation. Go to the motherboard manufacturers website and download the BIOS upgrade for your specific motherboard...
Further to the above, I should have mentioned that you will probably lose you long file names as DOS only supports the DOS 8.3 format.

Download NTFSDOS and boot the system from a windows 98 boot disk. Run NTFSDOS from floppy. This will mount the partitions so they can be read under dos. Use xcopy <path>\*.* /s to copy the folders and files to a a separate partition.
