    Wait, you are talking about an SL2100 right? Fairly certain 8 SIP/VOIP ports out of the box and VM to email was standard. Ya, been dealing with Asterisk for over a decade. Good luck.

    Ya, I never understood flashing the phones for standard SIP. I tried it once and the amount of work and time...it just isn't worth it.

    Check your firewall/router and make sure it's 1:1.

    Pull the battery and drain all the caps. Then install a new battery and try it again.

    Try and flash it again and WAIT. I've had it take 30 minutes. Not to say it isn't bricked but let it run. He would replace it with another 2100 because phones are the #1 cost of a phone system. SL2100 base cabinets are also very inexpensive.

    I never had those issues like ever unless there was a weak backup battery and a severe power outage. Then all you have to do is reload the database and replace the battery. Easy peasy. Probably have like 500 systems in.

    Meh, I have no issues with NEC from a hardware/software standpoint. Solid systems as long as you program them correctly. Now NEC corporate...that's a whole other can of worms.
