I have promised to help a guy with a few design issues.
First of all his employers are dialling-in to the company when they need a connection from home (they have 2 ISDN modems on the site).
Second, they are all using public addresses on the LAN.
Third, his got some employers he does not...
Before i changed anything, this router had a single-port WIC installed and was connected to a NT box running ISDN PRI. Everything working fine and still is. I simply switched the WIC with a dual-port WIC module and added another controller/serial and connected nr 2 port on the module to new NT...
ive configured cisco 2811 routers, each with a WIC installed. Router "A" has a multiport WIC installed (2 ports) and router "B" has a single port WIC installed.
Both configurations are the same, except for the router with the dual-port WIC which have an extra controller and serial interface...
These 2 routers are connected with WIC cards and its possible to ping from one LAN to the other. The problem i see is that the connected serial interfaces are in different network:
Router 1: 192.168.10.1 255.255.255.0
Router 2: 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0...
im a little confushed here. should i be able to ping a serial interface that is not connected wiht a cable/router in the other end?
should i be able to see it in "sho ip route"?
if not, then its probably working fine once i get the other router and i can go to bed, finally :)
i dont get it, did i do something wrong? i mean shouldnt i be able to ping serial 0 and 1 when pinging from a PC connected to Eth0 having the IP 192.100.200.l0
i can ping the lan interface (my gateway) but not my serial interfaces, something i missed?

i have no experince with this module so this might be something very simple. i tunred off the router and installed the module in HWIC1 and powered up the router.
