    Cisco 3550 Switch to Cisco 3640 Router

    Ok, so the speed can not be set, but should those devices be able to communicate? I get no link light between the 2. I have tried swaping TX and RX. I know my ports are good, I have done a GBIC to GBIC and it links up, also I have tossed a fiber loop on the router and it links up.

    The Switch is a GBIC fiber device, the other is a 100 BASE FX Router Interface. I am unable to issue the speed 100 command on the GBIC Switch.

    Greetings, I am new to these forums. I am unable to get my cisco 3550 gigabit switch to talk to the 100 base FX interface on my 3640 router. I believe it has something to do with the speed differenes, because I can connect my switch to other gigabit devices no problem, and my router interface...
