I may have spoken a hair too soon. While it is greatly improved, I still get some timeouts. Sometimes hitting the reload button works.... but sometimes that just makes it sit there and timeout. Opening the URL in another window makes it load very quickly... I'm seeing this on two machines...
Hmmm. I have to say, things are greatly improved since adding the "ip tcp adjust-mss 1452 command".
I'm not getting timeouts. Things are loading much faster. I'm not seeing any problems with pictures loading on websites.
I changed nothing else but that one setting.
I'm still on the...
Ok.
I ran a ping -t and times looked good. I also like to use WinMTR and I posted a link to my output. Not one dropped and the averages look good.
I'm doing testing here with three machines (one is my server). I get the same behaviour on all three machines. DNS lookups are almost instant, so...
Ok, I did a write erase and started over with the basic config you listed here.
Its still pretty laggy. I'm also getting a lot of timeouts like before. For example, it took almost a minute to load slashdot.org's website.
CNN came right up one time... almost instantly. The next time, it...
Ok. I tried those and it broke. I couldn't get anything out at all. I copied the "sh run" and will paste it below.
I entered:
ip inspect MYFW out
no ip access-group ACL-INBOUND in
so that I could access the internet again.
FW#show run

Is it normal to see all this being logged to my serial session?

Ok guys. I had an old buddy try to help me. I'm not sure if he helped or made things more complicated. hehe.
Again, its sort of working. I can browse the web, but for many sites its slower. Often times pictures don't load. Wired.com takes forever to load for example. Here is my "show run"...

The router hasn't been reloaded since I had been connected.
But, I can connect up again , gather the information, then post it. I'll be busy tonight with birthday plans, but can post that information tomorrow.
Not using ADSL - Time Warner cable to a cable modem.
Thanks
Gladly.
Please note that currently I have nothing connected to the ports. The web is pretty much useless while on the Cisco so I have to use the old router to make this post.
As a result, fa4 doesn't have an IP at the moment.
Please find below:
