Thanks for the responses ran integrity then fixmog -i upon receiving first error message. Ran /tcb/bin/authck -av ( check Password , terminal and protected database ).This also gave the same error viz :Fixing inconsistencies in the entries for username cannot write a Protected Password database...- pirate
