I'm trying to install Ethereal, a packet sniffer/analyzer for linux. I found many RPMs on the Ethereal site for Redhat 7.3 but not sure which one's I need. I believe there are versions that just support command line only, but I would be looking for something that is GUI driven. There was...
Thanks Daniel and Rhythm, editing the file manually and changing the DocumentRoot worked. I'm not sure why the apacheconf gui utility does not work. When I checked httpd.conf it had the original directory /var/www/html as root.
Thanks
Fluid11, I believe I changed the directoryIndex to the proper directory via apacheconf. I also renamed what I would like to be my homepage to index.html as suggested by someone else, but no luck, it pulls up the default homepage in /var/www/html/index.html no matter what I do.
LinuXelite...
I tried that daniel and it still pulls up the default page that comes with apache. I believe all is ok when I check apacheconf. The directory was changed to point to where the mrtg log files get dumped and there is an index.html file there that was created by indexmaker.

Bob
Indexmaker creates an html page (core1html.html). I put the file in the same directory as the working directory for mrtg, this is where the mrtg log files get dumped each time the process is run. I used apacheconf to point to that area /var/www/html/mrtgweb/core1 and also changed the search...
I am running mrtg and apache on Redhat 7.3, things are working fine with that. I created a page using indexmaker and am trying to make that my homepage. I ran apacheconf and changed the site configuration page search list to use the new one from indexmaker but I keep getting the default...
Thanks, I'll take a look at bluefish. I have another question regarding apache. I am running mrtg, things are working fine with that. I created a page using indexmaker and am trying to make that my homepage. I ran apacheconf and changed the site configuration page search list to use the new...
I'm looking for a package to do Web Page Design. I have worked with MS FrontPage but want something that will run on Linux instead (Heard you can compile FrontPage Server extensions on Linux). I'm not a programmer so I'd be looking for something that will work along the same lines as...
My login syntax was incorrect. I didn't need a -C option, example: user.xx.xx.xx . The volumes are mounted now. It appears this is just for file storage only, can't run any of the .exe's in public etc.. I am trying to find a list of commands that can be used with ncpfs installed?
Regards,
Bob
Can the ncpfs software handle logins via NDS? I tried ncpmount and can't login, getting a -601 nds error, although I can do an slist and see our servers out there. I'll try to get mars_nwe going just for testing but I really don't need that functionality. Any info would be appreciated.
I need to install IPX support on a RedHat linux 7.3 system. I've heard you need to re compile the kernel. If this is true can someone tell me what software is needed (already downloaded mars_nwe) and maybe send a link or instructions on how to do it.

Bob
Thanks to all. I had to intall two rpms and I used kpackage, figured it would be easier for me to do it that way versus the command line, at least for now, since I'm not sure what arguments should be used when installing rpms. The printers are now working. I'm loving Linux more and more each...
Thanks Daniel. When you say just the source what does that mean? I'm a linux newbie, hopefully you can handle some stupid questions, I did some unix stuff many many moons ago, mostly doing alot of Cisco right now but want to jump on the linux wagon too.
Regards,
Bob
I need to install ncpfs-2.2.0.18-6.src.rpm for printing to Novell via NCP. Can files the have .src in them be installed using rpm from the command line or GNOrpm? Does anything else have to be done first?
