Minor connectivity problem
Just building a new ISA server for when we go over to active directory.... Ok it seems that it is defaulting to use the LAN Nic rather than the ISP routed Nic (or the other way round - my head hurts) because when i reboot the server I can't get onto the internet (and therefore will anyone else...- SmawlWun

Newbie question - collision checking on Catalyst 4006
Errrrm, not sure if your particular switch is different but normally you go into priviledged mode (enable), type show interface (or show interface fastethernet 0/1 etc) and the information should be displayed for you there. -

Thanks for the post but..... The router type thing I have is telling me to give all 8 Gigabit ports seperate ip addresses and subnets, which I don't want to do.....I just want to plug 8 switches into it and use it as a backbone. It's not giving me an option of just one IP adress and gateway... -
