Through SMIT, I added new disk hdisk0 to the rootvg, then mirrored the rootvg. Then bootlist -m normal hdisk3 hdisk0 (hdisk3 being the original member). Then rebooted. And it hasn;t worked since. Obviously something went wrong because if I interrupt the boot sequence and go into the admin...

No message. The boot sequence starts, a load of "IBM"s right across the screen, then an AIX banner, than the AIX version, then Closing stdin and stdout ...... then nothing further, it just hangs :-( The LED display on the front just says "AIX starting".

I've just taken delivery of a new p520 and played around with mirroring the boot disk. Now the system hangs whilst booting up AIX at the "Closing stdin and stdout" message. I'm sure it'll be easy to fix if I can boot into maiintenance mode. But IBM have not yet sent the BOS media and...
