Thanks for the reply jamkey, But unfortunately it didn't work. I even deleted the files again and rebooted the server just in case. I get this error every minute in the event viewer!! I am tempted to throw the server out of the window now.

I changed the catalogue path to point to another drive and then realized they cannot point to a remote drive. The problem is since changing the path back I am getting this error in the event log every minute. Any help would be appreciated.

Could somebody please explain to me why you need the remote agent and does it actually speed up backing up a remote server, Or even do you really need it.
Also do you get a licence with it when you buy backup exec or is totally seperate?

I am currently backing up 2 drives over the network (D$ and E$)and keep getting a "cannot attach : access denied" error.
It works with the administrator account as the service account but not with the backup exec service account that was originally created.
