xp get "no service..." from Samba - help!
Hi Murugs, I used 'service ipchains stop' and my xp can connect to linux now! thanks! by the way, what does 'service ipchains stop' mean? Do I have to type this everytime I start up my linux machine? Regards, miniz- miniz

hi, my home network consists of 1 winXP ('myxp') box and 1 linux ('mysamba') box connected to a router-switch for DSL internet sharing. The linux runs Samba 2.2.1a. It can do 'smbclient //myxp/shareddocs' to browse and read files of xp box. The xp box can see 'mysamba' icon in My Network...- miniz
