Nope, never dropped it. Had it sitting on the case the entire time, just kept unplugging the ribbon cables on and off and switching in a CDRW with it. I've posted on a few message boards about the problem and I am quite suprised that this isn't a common or known problem anybody really knows...

What should the average temp be for this? And when should I be worried? With the side panel off, and 1 case fan missing, the BIOS is reading it at 42-48 C or 110 F. Is this high, or will the extra case fan on the side cover help to cool much?
