    That crossed my mind as I had to do that with a 5/4 driver to get the 5 to work. That was on a Win95 network installation. I did uninstall the iii driver and installed the ii driver from Win98 CD and got the same result. It appears that the same driver update is offered from the HP web site...

    Thanks for the suggestion - I did that as: A:\ dir > prn did nothing but A:\ dir > lpt1 printed the directory of the floppy further suggestions? Thanks!!
