Linney, I finally got it to work. You were right the first time. It was the file format. Originally when I changed from jpg to bmp I just changed the file extension. I was still able to view the image after I renamed it .bmp so I thought it would work. I found an online file converter that...- delafurie

Desktop Background doesn't show for non-admin users
I tried converting it to a .bmp. That didn't work. The image doesn't show under any user ID. It comes up as blank background. I'm not sure the file is viewable as a bmp. - not as wallpaper anyway. All the other Wallpapers in that folder - the ones that come standard with XP are all .jpg.- delafurie
