OK it works.
I have my DHCP and WINS server on a different server to my VPN server, the registry entries on the VPN server point to the 2nd server for WINS resoloution and i have the DHCP relay agent installed on the VPN server.
Must note that the DHCP relay agent does not forward your WINS...
I have the same problem, but can connect using IP addresses and can ping. You can set up the default DNS and WINS sever addresses in the registry of the VPN server. This will default the VPN clients settings globally. The key is:-
