I have solved my problem by upgrading the firmware in the linksys router which then opened the appropriate ports to use windowsxp/messenger. interestingly the firmware download could not be reached by going to the downloads section. You had to go to the product page and click to firmware. Weird...
Ok the problem is certainly the need to forward the packages as the system works with the dmz host enabled.
How/where can i find the ports necessary to enable the h323 protocol package forwarding?

Linksys says to change channels on the wireless to avoid noise. and another source says the 802.11B isn't fast enough. I don't see why.
