    using hosts and proxy

    how do i use a hosts file while using a proxy server?I use the hosts file to block ads but when i use a proxy server the hosts file gets bipassed.

    Unable to access FTP sites since formatting HD and reinstalling all.

    Can anyone please help? I can no longer access ftp sites and even some websites since reinstalling all my software. It may be a network setting but I can't find it.
