Thanks. that sums it up well. Perfect analogy :) Ok so now I know why I was getting confused. i thought WSS 3 was the older version and MOSS was the new version. Now I got it. That explains why the book i'm ready regarding configuring was reffering to 2003 and I had WSS 3.0 and everything...- losercore

Can someone please help me understand the versions of SharePoint? Are WSS 3.0 and SharePoint 2003 the same thing? I'm just a little confused with all the versions and names I see. Thanks- losercore
