    Setting max user processes in Solaris 8

    I'm trying to set the max user processes in Solaris 8. I add "set v.v_maxuprc = 500" to /etc/system and reboot (I've tried both boot and boot -r). When I check the "maximum processes per user id, it still shows 1594. I'm testing this out on a Sparcserver 20 running Solaris 8...
