    Thanks! Fizzak,That's just what I was looking for. Now another question. I added a drop shadow to the offset outline only & welded them together in Pathfinder.Unfortunately the cut lines still exist between the outline & shadow, where Illustrator 8 welded them into one piece, guess I'll just...

    Thanks for the reply, an inset in Vector FX is a true inline/ outline tool that comes in real handy with a vinyl cutter. You can cut a different color outline or cut a letter in an outline only to the thickness you want. This tool was in use daily here. Still have 8 installed & can still do it...

    Hi, I just upgraded from Illustrator 8.0.1 Mac to Illustrator CS2. Nice upgrade so far. I'm afraid I got lazy a few years ago and added Vector FX to my Plugin folder & now I can't seem to do Insets on converted text...any help appreciated...Thanx
