    setting up smtp on sharepoint 3.0

    Hi , I am currently running sharepoint 3.0 in an exchange 2007 environment , when I created via admin console the outgoing settings for sharepoint - putting my exchange servers name as smtp server - still no luck with sending alerts ?? Ne 1 have ne thing to add ?
