If I want to set up a VPN tunnel between two sites that both have dynamically assigned public Internet addresses, I instantly run into problems.
Does anyone know if its possible in some way, maybe by using dynDNS, to achieve this ??
Any suggestions of equipment to use ??

you will have to set-up the machine(s) at the 192.168.1.X LAN for a alternate gateway. Since the D-Link will tell that he's the "way out" you will have to add a route to 10.208.48.X LAN machines.
e.g.
route add 10.208.48.0 mask 25.255.255.0 <two-nic machine ip> metric 1 if 1
