iv an HP Colorado Travan 5GB ide-tape, its on /dev/st0 (scsi-emulation).
i can read data from is with tar xzvf /dev/st0 but i can not write on it, if i want to write on it with tar or dd it says read-only filesystem, but the tape isnt write protected.
what can i do...

ive a ide streamer with scsi emulation on /dev/st0. i can read the information on it, but i cant write on it.

i want to use my ide travan in debian 3.0. i have built a new kernel with scsi-emulation and addes hdc=ide-scsi into the lilo append line how is needed for using it. but if i want to write on it the kernlel says /dev/nst0 is not a valid device.
so someone said to me i have to delete...
