hey guys ... good news ... i think ... on the host computer ... it now recognizes the other computer on the network. However, i cannot connect and view any files. it claims that "i dont have permission to use the network resource ... the network path was not found."

I am still having the problem. I connected them with a crossover cable. The loacal area connection on my host computer reads like the following:

IP address: 192.168.1.50
