Print the photo the size it is, not bigger, not smaller!!
I recently noticed the exact same boarder problem with my hp officejet d135 all-in-one printer. A direct copy from my glass or auto feed renders a copy (I used 8.5x11 sheet landscape mode in this example) that is exactly the same heigth but 5/16 inch shorter in width.
