in addition I found this also and it is exaclty the problem I had, I must stress it wasnt the Advanced test on POWERMAX which finds the problems it is the 90second test which throws up the error http://www.negative-infinity.de/index.php?content=class- andyxxxx

I also had this problem with a Maxtor HDD (Different model from you guys) and an on board Promise controller and I only get it while running WIN2000 (its ok with XP), as I saw this mentioned on another forum somewhere, and it turns out it is a problem with the Maxtor HDD, It had an error with...- andyxxxx
