    One color missing on color lj3800dtn

    Not likely. This printer has 2 lasers. Each one writes to two of the colors. The top Laser writes to both the Black and the Yellow. When you close the door is the protective drum flap (cover) on the yellow cartridge opening? What happens if another color is in that slot?
