Please look at the attached file...this is gonna be difficult to explain...but e.g. look at row 35...each of the codes e.g. BD01, PD02 etc are breakdowns. I f we insert hours available underneath as i have done in row 36, and the look at the table starting in row 92, what formula could...
no rush...i am just playing around with the db...i think i am learnig as i do so...but we have a lot of other things happening on site that i am attending to, and the db gets back seat...it's kinda annoying but i am sure most people know what i mean?!?

The above is my new relationships. Do you think it is sufficient? I am a little worried about 1 to 1 relationships that seem to be present, but i am keen to restart on forms. do not want to jump the gun, because this database must function properly.:)

Hey Maj..how are you this week. I have tried to clean up my tables. Having a prob wit the relationship between equipment and components - it should be one to many.

i understand. i am an excel guru myself (not being proud am i...haha), so access is new territory. i have actually done a basic course which explains basic relationships, but theory and practice is quite different.
sorry i posted the previous mail before i read your reply. there is a possibility of multiple plants in the future but i have decided for now i am going to set it up for the one plant.The section and assemblies part also seems a little strange to me, because the data i got shows something...

at the moment that is the exact structure. i guess in future it may go down to a subcomponent. how much more difficult would that be? if it's complex, the specified structure should be ok, seeing that is what i was asked to do?
