    Check this link: http://www.macromedia.com/support/fireworks/ts/documents/solid_txt_blocks.htm My problem was my color depth; a change to 32-bit solved the problem. It seems to be an issue with the NVIDIA driver. Hope this helps!

    I am seeing exactly the same problem; the text will only do this when the stroke is transparent. If you pick a color for the stroke, you will be able to see the text. This isn't a workaround, though, as the text needs a transparent stroke to be used properly. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix...
