    The MVP130-AV does support FAXing and the T.38 protocol. We are using it now on several FAX machines. The trick is to the download an unpublished firmware upgrade for the MVP130-AV from the MultiTech site that supports the T.38 protocol. We are using G.711,G.729 for the protocol.

    We are using the MultiTech MVP130-AV, the AV version is designed especially for use with Avaya systems and can register with Communications Manager. It has a single FXO/FXS port. It works very well as an analog endpoint.

    Putting the phone in an enclosure will not work. THe operators need access to it quickly and frequently. If we install it in a box it will just stay open anyway. We have rugged analog phones in these locations now, but I would prefer to replace them with VoIP units if there is a similarly rugged...
